PASIGHAT, 22 Feb: The English department of JN College (JNC) here in East Siang district organised a seminar themed ‘The Romantic Movement in English Literature’ on Thursday.
“The main motto of the seminar was to encourage students to develop critical bent of mind to understand literature in a broad perspective.
“One jointly edited book, as the outcome of the national seminar sponsored by the union culture ministry, was also released by JNC Principal Dr Tasi Taloh,” the university informed in a release.
It said that the principal commended the two editors – Dr Abani Doley and Dr Subhashis Banerjee – “for their constant approach to develop the congenial environment for academics and research in the department.”
English HoD Dr Doley and IQAC coordinator Dr DP Panda also spoke, it said.
