Shadowed Land

— Karpop Riba

Where sun-kissed fields once bloomed
A land where freedom’s song once soared
Now shadows creep casting doubts
And whispers shroud a truth that used to lie.

Hope once a bird with vibrant wings soared high
But shadows crept with hunger in their eye.
Extortion’s grip – a serpent cold and tight
Squeezed every ounce of hope from morning light.

Blackmail’s poison whispered dark and sly,
Spread through the veins where justice used to lie.
A tarnished crown, a kingdom stained with rust,
A noble tale now choked by choking dust.

The throne once gleaming stands a hollow shell,
Reflecting doubts where trust and honor fell.
The whispers grow a chilling, creeping tide
Legitimacy with each dark secret died.
But will the shadows forever hold their sway?
Or will a spark of courage light the way?
