ITANAGAR, 15 Apr: The state BJP released its Lok Sabha election manifesto during a press conference here on Monday.
Addressing mediaper-sons, state BJP president (i/c) Tarh Tarak explained the manifesto as “a comprehensive vision of the NDA to ensure a developed India by 2047.”
“This BJP manifesto prioritises quality and quantity of opportunities aimed at generating jobs through infrastructure development, while promoting startups and global centres for high-value services,” he said.
Besides guaranteeing a free ration scheme for five years – without mentioning for which sections – the manifesto states that the party is “committed to adding the age group of 70 and above in the Ayushman scheme, regardless of their economic status, and every citizen who has attained 70 years of age will receive free healthcare for up to Rs 5 lakhs in the state.”
Tarak said that, over the last decade, efforts have been made to empower women and provide them with new opportunities. “The next five years will see more participation of women and women empowerment,” he said.
On the tourism sector, the BJP’s manifesto states that it aims to “link the global diaspora and international travellers with one’s own rich heritage, seamlessly integrating it with the world’s cultural tapestry.”
The manifesto states also that the BJP is fortifying three pillars of infrastructure – social, physical, and digital.
Without naming the Congress, it states that the previous administrations viewed urbanisation as a challenge, but the BJP perceived it as an opportunity.
“We are committed to establishing new satellite towns across the country and poised to emerge as vital hubs for national development and for job creation,” the manifesto reads, adding that “our government removed Article 370 and brought in the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, and we steadfastly adhere to the mantra of ‘reform, perform, and transform’.”
The manifesto reads that the BJP government would ensure that “the food plate of the poor is nutritious, satisfying and affordable.”
The state BJP leader added that “jan aushadhi kendras will continue to offer affordable medicines with an 80 percent discount.” The manifesto states also that the party would build “three crore more pucca houses, after constructing four crore pucca houses.”
It says that “the BJP government has provided free electricity supply, and now the party will work on reducing electricity bills to zero for crores of households.”
The PM Surya Ghar scheme for free electricity has been implemented with one crore people already registered, the manifesto states.
It says that the party has also decided to raise the loan limit under the Mudra scheme from Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs, adding that “this move would cater to the requirements of the industry 4.0 and provide a fresh impetus to the youths.”
“The Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana marks the first instance post-independence where it safeguards the dignity of the street vendors, liberating them from the burden of interest rates. The loan limit for this scheme will rise for Rs 50,000 and will encompass rural areas,” it reads.
The manifesto also highlights that “conferring identity and dignity to the transgender community will be included in the Ayushman Bharat scheme.”
The manifesto reads that “training in information technology, education, health, retail and tourism will be imparted to all the self-help groups,” adding that “10 crore women in the country have enrolled themselves in SHGs over the past two terms of the BJP.”
The manifesto also highlights the uniform civil code as “imperative for the nation’s welfare, advocating one nation, one election.”
Tarak said that “the BJP has formulated this sankalp patra to the 140 crore citizens as a testament to Modi ki guarantee.”
State BJP spokesmen Techi Necha and Dominic Tadar were also present at the conference.
