RANI, 6 Jul: NGO Dite Mopang Welfare Society (DMWS), in collaboration with the Rani Student’s Union (RSU), launched a ‘mass plantation drive’ at the playground of the government secondary school and the sides of the link road to the hospital here in East Siang district on Thursday.
“The DMWS has set a target to plant 2,000 saplings in Sille-Oyan circle this current monsoon season to fight against global warming,” DMWS chairman Takut Panyang said, and appealed to the students of Rani to participate in the plantation drive.
RSU president Tayor Taggu commended the NGO for its efforts, and said that he has received a large number of saplings from plantation programme secretary Kangken Panggeng “to continue the plantation drive.”
