ICR DC calls for improving students’ basic skills

ITANAGAR, 19 Jul: Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom on Friday called for improving the basic skills of the students for their overall academic performance.

During a discussion with the headmasters and teachers in-charge of the government upper primary schools in the capital region and representatives from Adhyayan Foundation, the DC emphasised “the necessity of foundational learning,” noting that “improving students’ basic skills is essential for enhancing their overall academic performance.”

He also underscored the crucial role that teachers play in shaping the future generations.

The meeting focused on enhancing educational outcomes in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 and the Shaala Siddhi framework.

Members of Adhyayan Foundation presented an overview of their organisation and the educational interventions aimed at improving the overall quality of education and fostering a collaborative environment among schools, as mandated by NEP-2020.

The head teachers shared examples of how they utilise the available resources to create efficient teaching-learning materials. Their innovative approaches and dedication to improving educational practices were highly appreciated by all the participants at the meeting.
