PASIGHAT, 19 Jul: A five-day training programme for in-service headmasters, teacher educators, elementary-level teachers and secondary-level teachers concluded at the Shikshak Sadan here in East Siang district on Friday.
The programme, which was inaugurated by DIET Principal Tapak Taki in the presence of DDSE Odhuk Tabing and DPC Giogi Paih, was organised by the Samagra Shiksha District Society, ISSE.
Addressing the participants, Taki urged them to “maintain self-discipline, considering its utmost importance and direct impact on the students.”
Emphasising the role that teachers have in shaping the lives of the young minds, Paih said, “Every teacher should always be reminded of their obligations towards the society.”
He also spoke at length on the importance of “providing vocational education and learning at schools to enable students’ learning, besides textual learning.”
Tabing apprised the gathering of the various aspects of the training programme, and urged the teachers to “always be an active learner by engaging in continuous learning process and improvising teaching-learning methods, and also remain updated with the changing times and adapt to new methodologies of teaching and learning process.”
Headmasters, head teachers, and teachers of elementary and secondary levels from Mebo, Ruksin and Pasighat blocks participated in the programme.
