ZIRO, Aug 16: The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) of St Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ), in collaboration with the Sports & Games Association (SAGA) and the health promotion cell of the college organised a 5-km-long ‘Red Run mini-marathon’, with the theme ‘Fitness run: Embracing a healthy life’, on Thursday.
Fifth-semester student Tayo Rini claimed the first position in the female category, while Hage Sunku and Tage Remung secured the second and the third position, respectively.
In the male category, Millo Taring from the 5th semester was adjudged the winner, followed by Padu Nado and Yeponam Langkam in the second and third position, respectively.
Cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners. Consolation prizes were also awarded to five participants.
SCCZ vice principal Fr Arnest K, along with RRC, NSS, SAGA and the health promotion cell, besides staffers, and 22 NSS volunteers from the 5th semester attended the event, the college informed in a release.
“A total of 52 participants from 3rd and 5th semesters enrolled, out of which 41 participants completed the race,” it added.
