NAMSAI, 30 Aug: The Namsai Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) organised a training programme for the BSc final year rural agriculture work experience programme (RAWEP) students of the Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) here on Tuesday, under the NICRA-TDC project.
During the programme, KVK animal science expert Dr Binod Kr Dutta Borah explained on-farm technology (OFT) and frontline demonstration (FLD) in poultry, duckery, and piggery.
KVK Head Dr Utpal Barua explained the function of KVKs, and provided information on different technologies developed by the research institute.
Plant protection scientist Dr Madhumita Sonowal Bora dwelt on different entrepreneurship development programmes under plant protection in Namsai district, and agriculture extension scientist Shravani Sahani apprised the students of the procedures for taking exams for higher studies.
AUS dean Prof Ajith Kumar K also explained the importance of OFTs and FLDs.
The students were later taken on a visit to a paddy field, sorghum field, sesame field, maize field, poultry units, IFS units, piggery units, etc.
Thirty-one RAWEP students, besides the dean and faculty members attended the programme.
