Water shortage at RFGC

Editor,

I would like to shed light on the pressing issue of water scarcity that is plaguing the lives of students and staff at Rang Frah Government College in Changlang (RFGC) district. As a faculty member of RFGC, it pains me to see my students, who are like my own children, struggling to fulfil their basic needs.

For the past week, our campus has been facing a severe water shortage, causing our students to go to great lengths to obtain this essential resource. They have to travel to a nearby stream, carrying dry bamboo and utensils, just to cook their meals. This has become a regular occurrence at our college, but it is particularly distressing during this time when our students are preparing for their exams.

This scarcity of water is often witnessed during important college events like the freshers’ meet, annual meet, and exams. This struggle at RFGC is not just about fulfilling basic needs, but also about the lack of resources and support for our student communiy. It is my hope that through this daily, we can draw attention to this issue and bring about positive change for the betterment of our students and their future.
