Young India Ke Bol campaign
ITANAGAR, 15 Dec: The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) expressed grave concerned over the “shocking rise in unemployment and the uncontrolled drug trade that is devastating India’s youths and generations to come.”
Launching the 5th edition of Young India Ke Bol campaign in the state on Sunday, APYC president Tarh Johny highlighted the unemployment issue of the country. He said, “While the BJP promised two crore jobs to combat unemployment, it has managed to recruit 0.3% of the candidates or only three out of every 1,000 applicants for permanent government jobs during the last decade since the Modi government came to power.”
“The BJP has been resorting to mere poll gimmicks and superficial measures to tackle the problem of unemployment, showing its
nonchalant approach towards the issue,” the APYC said.
The APYC said that the situation has been further compounded by “the massive upsurge in the drug trade in the country.”
As part of its efforts to highlight the “BJP government’s utter failure to address the concerns of the youths,” the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) launched the 5th edition of Young India Ke Bol nationwide campaign on 9 December, exhorting youngsters, including students, professionals, grassroots activists and political enthusiasts from all walks of life, to make their voices heard to “this irresponsible government.”
This edition of the Young India Ke Bol will be in line with the national programme of the IYC – ‘Naukri do, nasha nahi’ – with interested participants required to send their videos on the twin issues of unemployment and drug trade, the APYC said.
Johny further informed that participants of this programme will be invited to state and national level events and will be given a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the state and national spokespersons of the Indian Youth Congress.” He requested to the youths of the state to participate in this programme.
State office bearers, and city and district Youth Congress members were present at the programme.
