Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the attention of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to the following.
It is learnt that the APPSC has recently proposed an amendment in the syllabus for recruitment to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) Common Recruitment Rule and written to the Administrative Reforms Department. The commission had earlier notified the calendar for examinations and fixed the exams for AE (C) for May-June 2025. Now if the syllabus is changed at the last moment, we, the aspirants will not be able to cope up with the vast course in a short period.
We have been preparing for the competitive exams for the last 4-5 years with reference to the existing syllabus of the commission. If at all the commission desires to amend the syllabus, it should notify the same at least 6-8 months ahead of the scheduled examination date, so that all the aspirants have a fair opportunity for preparation, as the syllabus of AE is too vast to be covered in a few months. Amendment in the existing syllabus at the last moment seems fishy, as it might create doubts in the minds of aspirants that it could have been made for the benefit of some aspirants who beforehand knew about the change in the syllabus and have been preparing for it for months now.
Therefore, to give a fair chance to all the aspirants, it is requested to the commission not to go ahead with the change in syllabus of AE (civil) this time, the examination of which is scheduled in May-June 2025. Else, the commission should give at least 6-8 months time for preparation as per the new syllabus, which is not advisable.
It is therefore earnestly requested to the APPSC not to change the syllabus at this last moment and let the amended syllabus be circulated for the next exams well in advance. Hope the commission will understand the pain of the aspirants, and we hope that another new controversy is not created at this time.
