ZIRO, 14 May: A 22-year-old drug peddler, identified as Khyoda Otty, was arrested here in Lower Subansiri district on 12 May for allegedly peddling suspected heroin.
According to Lower Subansiri SP Keni Bagra, a credible tip-off led to the arrest.
A team of police led by Inspector M.Lalyang conducted a raid on Otty’s rental apartment near Treasury Down.
During the search, the police seized 2 plastic vials containing 2.7 grams of suspected heroin, 14 empty plastic vials and 2 insulin syringes (1 ml each), the SP said.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway, the SP added.
