PASIGHAT, 14 May: Pasighat police have successfully solved a theft case reported on 6 May at a residential quarter in Officers’ Colony here in East Siang district.
Valuable items, including gold jewelry and silver coins were reported stolen by unknown miscreants.
Acting swiftly, the police registered a case Under Section 305/329/332(C) of the BNS, and endorsed the case to investigating officer SI Johny Tasung, East Siang SP Pankaj Lamba, said
Through dedicated investigation and reliable intelligence inputs, the police team traced the stolen property to Mirsam village.
Two individuals, Osi Taloh and Talom Taloh, were found in possession of the stolen items, which were subsequently seized in the presence of independent witnesses, the SP said.
The items were later identified by the complainant’s wife.
Further interrogation led to the arrest of the main accused identified as Kadum @ Kabang Pertin of Mirsam village, Lamba said.
The accused was produced before the court of the CJM here and remanded to judicial custody.
The recovered items were released to the rightful owner.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated police team comprising the investigating officer, ASI T.Ering, constables K.W Kharmo and N. Sawin under the supervision of the Pasighat police station officer-in-charge and guidance of the SP.
“East Siang police remain committed to protecting life and property,” the SP said, and urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities. (DIPRO)
