KHONSA, 27 Jun: A health awareness camp along with non-communicable diseases screening and beneficiary enrollment under Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY), Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), and IFI was organized here in Tirap district on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, DC Techu Aran urged stakeholders and parents of girl children to avail of government welfare schemes like the CMAAY, the Dulari Kanya Scheme, and the PMJAY.
He also called upon healthcare workers, including DMOs, medical officers of CHCs and PHCs, and ASHAs, to actively spread awareness in both rural and urban areas to ensure that no girl child is left out of the Dulari Kanya Scheme.
He emphasized the importance of immunization, urging parents to vaccinate their children with two doses of the measles-rubella vaccine, which is provided free of cost at all government hospitals.
DMO Dr N Lowang informed the gathering that health workers across various centres are working tirelessly to reach the targeted age groups, despite manpower constraints. She also clarified the eligibility criteria for the Dulari Kanya Scheme.
DRCHO Dr Tatok Gao informed that a total of 118 patients underwent free NCD screening and received medicines. Forty-one patients were found to be hypertensive and eight diabetic out of the 118.
During the programme, 24 beneficiaries were enrolled under the CMAAY and three under the PMJAY, beside issuing 83 forms for Dulari Kanya Scheme. (DIPRO)
