Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to express deep concern over the rising unemployment rate in Arunachal Pradesh, especially among the youths. According to recent data, our state stands at the third position among the Northeastern states in terms of youth unemployment. This is alarming and demands immediate and sincere action from the government.
Despite various promises made on public platforms, there has been little effort seen on the ground to address this pressing issue. While the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) had released an annual examination calendar, the commission has failed to follow it up properly, further adding to the anxiety and frustration of thousands of aspirants.
Similarly, the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) conducted the Combined Graduate Level
Examination, but the results have been withheld due to an ongoing court case. Aspirants who have prepared for years and are dreaming of a secure government job now find themselves in uncertainty. Due to such delays, many candidates are nearing or have crossed the upper age limit, missing out on opportunities after years of hard work.
Recently, the APSSB also conducted the LDC/JSA examination for in-service personnel, where out of 129 vacancies, only seven candidates qualified, leaving the majority of the posts vacant. These unfilled vacancies should not go to waste, especially when there is a huge pool of qualified unemployed youths. I urge the APSSB to consider adding these remaining vacancies to the upcoming CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) examination to provide a fair opportunity to all eligible candidates.
I hope this letter draws the attention of the authorities concerned and prompts them to take concrete steps to ensure timely recruitment and transparent procedures to reduce unemployment in the state.
