Leparada DC inspects development sites

BASAR, 31 Jul: Leparada Deputy Commissioner Himani Meena inspected several key development sites here in the district on Thursday.

She was accompanied by officials from various departments, including the district planning officer, the PWD executive engineer, the urban development & housing executive engineer, the deputy director of school education (DDSE), and the district land revenue & settlement officer.

The DC visited the Government Higher Secondary School and the Government Secondary School in Basar to identify a suitable location for the construction of a 100-capacity hostel building under the DA-JGUA. She also inspected a proposed site for the installation of a futsal court under the Department of Youth Affairs.

During the visit, the DC directed the DDSE to submit a detailed report on the “land status” of the GHSS and the GSS to facilitate finalization of the hostel site and issuance of no objection certificate (NOC) for the futsal court.

She also instructed the executing agencies – PWD and Urban Development & Housing – to expedite construction works while ensuring strict adherence to quality and quantity standards.

Further, the DC reviewed ongoing and proposed development projects at the new district headquarters site, such as the residential quarters under the Urban Development and Housing Department, construction of the district secretariat and associated roads under the PWD, and the site earmarked for the deputy commissioner’s bungalow at the new district headquarters.

Meena assumed charge as DC on 25 July. (DIPRO)
