DAPORIJO, 4 Sep: The foundation stone for the establishment of an indigenous Nyibu Nyigam Yarku school was laid at Dol-Rijo in Sigin-I in Upper Subansiri district on Thursday.

Attending the programme, Industry Minister Nyato Dukam said that the indigenous school would play an important role in preserving and promoting indigenous culture, costume and local dialects.

MLAs Rode Bui, Taniya Soki and others also spoke during the function.

The land gift deed agreement was signed in the presence of the public and the dignitaries by the Kardu-Yekar family, which has donated more than 40 thousand sq metres of land.

DC Tasso Gambo, SP M Yadav, Donyi-Polo Cultural Committee chairman T Wage, Tagin Cultural Society president Larji Rigia, its secretary Tuter Dulom, among others, attended the foundation laying ceremony. (DIPRO)
