ITANAGAR, 14 Mar: The tourism department organised a two-day homestay training programme for registered homestay owners from across the state at the State Food Craft Institute (SFCI) on 11 and 12 March.
The programme was specially designed for homestay owners who had not previously undergone formal training.
The participants received hands-on training in key areas of hospitality, including housekeeping practices, guest services, food safety & hygiene, and basic hospitality management.
Interactive and practical sessions helped the participants gain a better understanding of professional service standards, quality guest care, and improved homestay management, enabling them to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
Through such initiatives, the department aims to empower homestay owners with essential skills, elevate service standards, and further strengthen the tourism ecosystem of the state, the organisers stated in a release.
All 59 participants were awarded certificates during the valedictory session held at the institute. The certificates were distributed by Tourism Deputy Director Bengia Manna Sonam, SFCI Principal S Kar, and others.
