ITANAGAR, Sep 8: Laa Talar of Arunachal Pradesh went down fighting 18-21, 29-27, 14-21 to Assam’s Hirok Joti Neog in the men’s single final in the NE-Inter State Zonal Badminton Championship–2017, which concluded at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Mizoram on Friday.
However, the pair of Pinky Karki and Taring Yania won the Women’s Double title defeating Lalrinzuali F and Vanlalhriatpuii of Mizoram in three sets (24-22, 09-21, 21-18).
In Mixed Doubles (U-19), Biki Lakai and Yumlam Mopi had to be contend with the silver medal after they lost the final match 11-21 09-21 to L Unilkumer Singh and N Purnima of Manipur.
Rahul Tapa and Kalong Taki won a Bronze medal in Men’s Double.
In total, Arunachal Pradesh bagged 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals in the championship.
Meanwhile, ASBA President Ratu Techi and Secretary Bamang Tago congratulated the team Arunachal for their performance in the highlighted contested championship.
