NEW DELHI, Nov 25: The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India organised the Inter-Child Care Institutions (CCI) Festival “Hausla 2017” from November 16 to 20 in line with the Child Rights Week celebration at New Delhi for children residing in CCIs.
A 14-year-old child of the children’s home run by the Oju Welfare Association, Naharlagun also secured fourth position in the painting competition held during Hausla 2017.
The festival is held to provide children with space to express their creative, academic and physical abilities, and is organised with the intention of inspiring the children staying in CCIs.
Earlier, the state Department of Women and Child Development, in collaboration with Child Line, Itanagar and CCI run by the Oju Welfare Association, Naharlagun organised various competitions in athletics, painting, and other activities and selected two children from Oju Welfare Association to participate in the festival.
Around 700 children living in 26 CCIs from all over the country participated in the festival.
WCD Secretary Madhu K Garg, Director of Women and Child Development T P Loyi and Chairperson Oju Welfare Association Ratan Anya congratulated the children for their participation and winning prize in the inter-CCI festival.
