SEPPA, Apr 29: The East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) on Wednesday appealed to the chief secretary to cancel the transfer order of Additional Deputy Commissioner Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla.
In a representation, the EKSWCO stated, “The order to transfer ADC Polumatla has not gone down well with the public of Seppa town. There is a huge public outcry in Seppa lamenting at the premature transfer”
The district parental organization further stated that the ADC has impressed the public with his dedication, honesty and commitment towards the district.
“His personal initiative towards self-sufficiency in agriculture in the district, starting with the pilot project- ‘Hamaare Khet, Hamaare Bacche’, is commendable one. Further, his creative efforts
in the ongoing fight against the Covid-19 has won the hearts of the public,” the EKSWCO added.
Informing that the district is facing an acute shortage of administrative officers, the EKSWCO further said that the transfer of the ADC at a crucial juncture would affect the ongoing fight against Covid-19.
The organization pleaded to the chief secretary to reconsider its decision to transfer ADC Polumatla.
The All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) also requested the chief secretary to revoke the transfer of ADC Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla on Wednesday.
“The absolutely surprising order without placement of a reliever to the ADC office has created ripples among the local public here,” it said.
“At a time when the entire nation is looming under great fear, fighting against the contagious disease, and given the fact that our district has been facing shortage of civil servants, the ADC’s transfer is detrimental and comes as a significant loss to the entire district. The order will only create complexities in managing administrative functions at this crucial juncture,” observed AEKDSU president Chakang Yangda.
The union further urged the CS to retain the ADC at Seppa till a reliever is posted or at least till the Covid-19 crisis subsides.
The AEKDSU team, which called on the CS at his office on Wednesday, said that the CS has assured that an IAS rank ADC for East Kameng will be posted in the next few days, besides agreeing to the union’s demand for holding the transfer order till a reliever to the ADC office is sent.
