ITANAGAR, Jun 13: A medical team comprising Kamle District Reproductive & Child Health Officer (DRCHO) Dr Kapu Sopin, epidemiologist Dr Kapu Tapu, ANMs, and staffers visited remote villages such as Mengi Kabak, Luba and Rodum and conducted outreach sessions on routine immunization.
The team also created awareness on Covid-19 and distributed masks among the villagers on Friday.
“The team had to leave the ambulance halfway due to bad road. However, we managed to reach Mengi Kabak village, which is 50 kms away from the Tamen Kamle bridge, by Tata Mobile,” the DRCHO said.
The team also distributed a bag of rice, 2 kgs of sugar, a packet of tea and 1 kg of salt each to the 40 families of the village on behalf of the Mengi Kabak Luba Village Employees and Intellectual Forum.
It is reported that the villagers are facing shortage of ration and other edible items.
Informing that torrential rain has made the Tamen-Tali road deplorable, Dr Sopin appealed to the department concerned to properly maintain it. The road is a lifeline for Upper Kamporijo circle, Yorkum, Radum, Habi, Luba, Mengi Kabak, and Lower Tali circle of Kra Daadi district.
Dr Sopin also appealed to likeminded people and officers of the areas to “look back towards the villages in this hour of crisis as the villagers are facing shortage of food items.”
