ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The Koloriang, Damin, Parsi-Parlo & Sarli Students’ Union (KDPSSU) and the Koloriang Youth Organization (KYO) have announced a 36-hour bandh in Kurung Kumey HQ Koloriang from 28 October to press their various demands.
Their demands include “immediate cancellation of 12 posts of one-stop centre scheme jobs under the integrated child development services (ICDS) department, which are illegally appointed by the department without giving advertisement through any media; proper demarcation of the boundaries of the government schools in Koloriang town to prevent encroachment; immediate construction of the highway from old DC office to Kush; immediate shifting of the Food Corporation of India godown to Koloriang from Lower Subansiri district; action against illegal encroachment on government land; immediate eviction of building and structures constructed between the BRTF road and the general ground in Koloriang, with cancellation of private land allotment; and immediate implementation of the Right to Education Act in Koloriang.”
Speaking to media persons, KDPSSU president Keji Chabok and KYO general secretary Nangram John said that the bandh has been announced because of the authorities’ failure to meet the union’s longstanding demands.
