Intensify vaccination drive: DC

YUPIA, 17 May: Papum Pare DC Pige Ligu asked the district’s medical team to intensify the vaccination drive in the district, and directed the DMO and his team to work out modalities to vaccinate the people residing in remote circles and villages who have not yet availed the Covid-19 vaccine.

Chairing a meeting with officers and panchayat leaders here on Monday, the DC appealed to the panchayat leaders to support the administration in the fight against Covid-19 and play a proactive role in disseminating information about Covid-19 vaccination drive at the grassroots level.

SP Neelam Nega highlighted the security arrangements and emphasized on the need to create more awareness among the public on the SOPs of Covid-19.

ZPC Chukhu Bablu urged the district administration to take strict action to contain the spread of the pandemic, and assured of every support from the panchayat members.

Doimukh ZPM Techi Rakap stressed on proper coordination between the administration and the PRI leaders in the fight against the pandemic in Doimukh area, while DMO Dr K Perme presented a brief on the status of the vaccination drive in the district.

Earlier, Disease Surveillance Officer Dr R Ronya spoke on “the status of the overall Covid-19 activities in the district.”

Meanwhile, in view of the huge gathering of people that took place in Doimukh on Monday to buy essential commodities, the DC ordered all shops in Doimukh subdivision to close down with effect from 18 May until further orders.

A committee has been constituted for provision of home delivery of essential items in Doimukh. The committee has been directed to identify dealers and shops for home delivery in the colonies and sectors in Doimukh during the lockdown period. (DIPRO)
