ITANAGAR, Jan 12: Claiming that the construction of the PMGSY road from Khenewa to Nampe in East Kameng district has not been taken up as per the detailed project report (DPR), the Nampe Welfare Society (NWS) has urged the chief minister to direct the department concerned to ensure that the construction of the road is carried out as per the DPR.
In a representation to the chief minister, the NWS on Thursday claimed that no drainage or culvert has been constructed on the road, while a bridge which has been constructed there is likely to collapse any time.
‘The department submitted the completion report to the ministry, but information obtained through RTI application showed that the implementing agency mentioned it is an ongoing project. There is a contrast in the information provided by the Bameng RWD EE and the ARRDA CEO,’ it claimed.
It also said that when the matter was brought to the notice of the implementing agency and the contractor, they both lodged a complaint against two persons, who were arrested by the police in Seppa on 10 January.
The NWS sought immediate withdrawal of the case against the arrested persons, and withholding of all payment against the project till the work is completed as per DPR.
