BANDERDEWA, Jan 16: Police personnel in the in-service refresher course batch participated in a training programme on ‘improving communication and behavioural skills and clients handling’ conducted by the Tourism department at the Police Training Centre (PTC) here on Tuesday.
Themed ‘Importance of tourism, safety and security of tourist’, the programme was aimed at highlighting the importance of the role of police personnel in projecting the state as a safe destination for tourists.
Addressing the participants, Tourism Assistant Director, Bengia Manna Sonam spoke about issues like permits required by tourists, such as tourist ILP/PAP, and the role of tourist police.
Sonam requested the DSP, Dusu Kaling, to identify a slot in all training programmes conducted at the PTC for which, she said, logistic support like resource persons, reading materials, etc, would be provided by the Tourism department.
