ITANAGAR, 21 Jul: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) has sought for proper implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotion) Act 2015, in the state.
In a representation submitted to the PWD commissioner on Wednesday, the AACWA stated that under the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotion) Act 2015, it has been clearly mentioned that district-based entrepreneurs and professionals must be duly registered under the Arunachal Pradesh Contractors Enlistment Rules 2008, in the appropriate class of category.
The AACWA claimed that there are still many departments which allow contractors of CPWD, telecommunication, MES, railway, BRO, NBCC, HPL, NPCC and other state-approved enlisted firms and companies to register.
“Their tendering limit is different from the state PWD. Such gross violation of the Act and negligence is discouraging to those contractors who are registered after paying legal enlistment fees which is indirect collection of revenue for the state PWD. Also, the enlistment fees of non-AP PWD is much lower than of state PWD,” the AACWA claimed and appealed to the commissioner PWD to immediately direct all secretaries, commissioners, chief engineers and working departments of state to strictly follow the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotion) Act, 2015.
