CHANGLANG, Jan 19: The Goodwill Football Tournament organised here by the 149 Bn CRPF under its civic action programme, concluded on Thursday.
Eight teams from various corners of Changlang district took part in the tournament, which was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner W Khimhun.
In the final match, Kuchep United FC defeated Football Club to clinch the title.
The battalion’s Commandant, Sameer Kumar Srivastava congratulated the winning team and thanked all the teams for their participation, while also encouraging local youths to enlist in the CRPF.
Besides trophies and medals, football uniforms and other accessories were provided during the closing ceremony to the winner and the runner-up team.
Attending the closing ceremony, MLA Tesam Pongte lauded the CRPF for conducting such tournaments and assured that the people of Changlang would cooperate with the CRPF for the betterment of the district and the state.
