ITANAGAR, 26 Oct: The Tawang District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with the National Commission for Women and the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), organized a legal awareness programme through a news channel on Tuesday.
Talks were held on free legal aid under the National Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, central and state government schemes for children, the Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011, the NDPS Act, 1985, women’s rights, the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal, 1985.
The programme garnered 1,700 viewers.
The West Kameng DLSA conducted door-to-door legal awareness programmes at 5 Mile and 9 Mile areas on the outskirts of Bomdila town.
In the state capital, the APSLSA along with the students of the Arunachal Law Academy, Lekhi, conducted door-to-door legal awareness programmes at Anya Colony, Gai Firm, D & P Sectors of Nirjuli, Sopo village, Doimukh and NERIST, Nirjuli.
In total, 257 people benefitted from the day’s legal awareness programmes.
