NAHARLAGUN, Feb 2: Sixty vendors participated in a state level vendor development programme organized by the union micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME) ministry at a city hotel here on Friday.
Conducted in association with the Rangiya (Assam)-based North Frontier Railway (NFR) and the Arunachal Pradesh Micro & Small Industries Association (APM&SIDA), the programme featured a buyer-seller meet aimed at extending marketing assistance to the MSME sector. It provided a common platform to MSMEs to learn about vendors’ participation in procurement of goods and services by central PSUs, central government departments, and the ministry.
NFR Divisional Material Manager AN Roy Choudhury, who inaugurated the programme, explained the vendor registration procedures under the Indian Railways’ e-procurement system.
Emphasizing on the requirement of storage, he urged local potential industrialists to enroll as vendors for the purpose of selling their goods and services.
APM&SIDA president Lindom Rana urged the railways authority to assist and support local entrepreneurs of Arunachal Pradesh in the procurement process in order to boost the MSME sector in the state, while Itanagar MSME-DI Assistant Director SLN Kumar spoke about the public procurement policy.
Naharlagun DIC Assistant Director Gyamer Tabin encouraged existing and budding entrepreneurs to reap the benefit of the public procurement policy of the Indian Railways, and Itanagar MSME-DI Assistant Director GS Khandelwal dwelt on the importance of the public procurement policy to industrialists and prospective vendors.
Itanagar MSME-DI Assistant Director Arun Difoe also spoke.
