ITANAGAR, 31 May: The Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) has expressed gratitude to the state government for fulfilling its demand for implementation of the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACP) for teachers at par with other departments.
All the other departments had already implemented the MACP for their employees as per the 6th Central Pay Commission, but
the education department is still implementing the earlier time-bound scheme for teachers, the ATA stated in a release on Tuesday.
“Many departments which had been implementing the time-bound scheme had also switched over to the MACP. In this regard, the ATA had been persuading the matter to the government of Arunachal Pradesh for consideration since 2018,” it said.
The state government approved the MACP for teachers on 30 May.
The association also expressed gratitude to Education Minister Taba Tedir, Education Commissioner Padmini Singla, Secondary Education Director Marken Kadu, and others who were involved in fulfilling the ATA’s request.
