MANI, 17 Jun: Dimapur (Nagaland)-based National Research Centre on Mithun (NRCM), in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK, organised an animal health camp for mithuns at Mani village on Friday.
NRCM senior scientist Dr JK Chamuah, Senior Technical Officer Dr K Vupru, and scientist Dr Vikram highlighted “semi-intensive mithun farming for better rearing and management of health, feed, etc,” and provided an overview of animal diseases and on-time vaccination of animals to prevent diseases like FMD, HS, BQ, etc. They also spoke about management of oestrus and other common diseases.
More than 50 persons, comprising HGBs, GBs, PRI members, senior citizens, youths and mithun rearers of Chiputa panchayat attended the programme, which concluded with distribution of veterinary medicines and mineral mixtures to the farmers.
