ZIRO, 24 Jun: Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime advocated utilising public functions like Dree festival and such to create awareness on tuberculosis (TB).
The DC said this during a meeting of the District TB Forum here on Friday.
During the meeting, DMO Dr Tage Kanno emphasised the need to create awareness on the availability of the latest TB diagnostic tools like CBNAAT and TrueNat “and the availability of highest quality TB drugs free of cost to the public.”
District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Hage Nibo made a presentation on the TB scenario in the district. Expressing concern over “the drop of TB case notification post Covid-19 pandemic,” he stressed the need to “work towards increasing TB notification urgently.”
Tarbu Daleh Multipurpose Cooperative Society project manager Nopnya made a presentation on the “activity report on TI project.”
Hari ZPM Hage Dolo also spoke, and called for ending TB by 2025. (DIPRO)
