ITANAGAR, 27 Jun: The TRIHMS team emerged victorious in the first Doctors Futsal Tournament, defeating RK Mission Hospital 2-1 in a nail-biting final match at the T Cube Futsal Arena in Doimukh on 25 June.
The TRIHMS team had entered the final after beating Nina-Heema-Hormin Combo team, captained by Dr Jomson Bagra, by a huge margin of 11-3 goals in the semifinals.
On the other hand, the RKMH team, led by Dr Goto Gangkak, had reached the final after beating the APHS team 5-4 in a keenly contested match.
The APHS team, led by Dr Raja Dodum, won the third-place playoff, defeating NHH team 6-3.
Dr Rinchin Dorjee Megeji won the golden boot award as the highest scorer (6 goals), while Dr Goto Gangkak was adjudged the best player.
Dr Tashi Paleng of the TRIHMS won the best goalkeeper award.
The IMA’s state unit sponsored the tournament, informed organising committee chairman Dr Kabak Tamar.
The trophies and the individual prizes will be awarded on Doctors’ Day on 1 July.
