OLD DEKA, 10 Feb: Forty-two farmers participated in a training programme on ‘Production technology of oil palm and tea’, organised at Old Deka village in Lower Siang district on Friday.
During the programme, which was conducted by Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) under the Arik Abik Lunom mobile-based agro advisory services, the farmers were apprised of the “production technology of oil palm and tea,” the CHF informed in a release.
Some of the farmers, who have already started oil palm cultivation in Deka village, were informed about the economic benefit of oil palm and tea cultivation, besides water, nutrient, diseases and pollination management.
They were informed also about the “m4agri module of the Umang app and its use in getting information from experts in the fields of horticulture, agriculture, fishery, animal science, marketing,” and such, the release stated.
