KHONSA, 19 Jul: National Reading Month was celebrated at district library here in Tirap district on Tuesday.
Attending the programme, circle officer Ripi Doni emphasized the importance of libraries in a student’s life and inculcating reading habit among students from an early age.
Doni spoke on how libraries play a pivotal role in creating a school culture, which in turn helps every student to shape and cultivate their individuality as well.
BEO in-charge Nawang L Medam also attended the programme.
An essay competition was also conducted among the students to mark the day.
Earlier, the participants paid homage to PN Panicker, the pioneer of library movement in India. (DIPRO)
