RAGA, 21 Jul: Tobacco products were seized from various shops and later destroyed, following a surprise checking on sale of tobacco within a 100-yard radius of educational institutions, conducted by a team of the Kamle district tobacco control cell, led by Town Magistrate Gheram Panyang, here on Friday.
Panyang informed “Raga will be declared a tobacco-free zone soon.”
The team, which included DRCHO Dr Kapu Sopin, Sub-inspectors Wangsu and Rotom Echu, ZPM Chamrak Tatum, Trade & Commerce Chairman Mili Matup and GCP Yukar Takap, directed the shop owners to not sell tobacco products to anyone below the age of 18. (DIPRO)
