ZIRO, 21 Jul: A theft accused who had escaped from police custody was rearrested by the Lower Subansiri police after a weeklong rigorous search.
The accused, identified as Kago Radhe (22), who is also a regular consumer of drugs, had escaped from police custody on 13 July while being taken to a suspected peddler whose name he had revealed during interrogation, and a case (u/s 224 IPC) had been registered against Radhe.
Based on credible information, a police team comprising Inspector Millo Lalyang, SI T John, and Constables N Suyang and M Jugli arrested Radhe from the Gano jungle area on 20 July at around 2 pm. He had been hiding in a makeshift tent in the jungle.
“Radhe was also accused in a case registered on 11 July in connection with a case under Section 454/380 IPC,” the police informed, and added that further investigation is underway.
