Path-yatra to commemorate Dalai Lama’s journey to India

GUWAHATI, Mar 16: The Core Group for Tibetan Cause, the apex body of Tibet support groups in India with the co-operation from the people of Tawang and West Kameng along with the monasteries and NGOs have organized a Path-yatra from Chuthangmo to Tezpur to commemorate the 60th year of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s journey from Tibet to India in March 1959.
The Path-yatra will start on 17 March from Chuthangmo under Zemithang circle of Tawangdistrict and conclude on 27 March at Tezpur of Sonitpur district in Assam.
The concluding function of path-yatra will be organized jointly by the people of Arunachal and Assam.
The march covering Gorsum Chorten, Lumla, Tawang, Jang, Senge, Dirang, Bomdila, Rupa, Tenga, Chaku, Khelong and Doimara has been organized to pray for long life of his holiness so that his message of peace and prosperity continue spreading across the world, said RK Khrimey, national convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause.
