ITANAGAR, Mar 31: In a representation to the chief minister, the All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical Electronic Mechanical Computer Engineers’ Association on Saturday urged the state government to create various posts under the electrical and electronic divisions.
The association claimed that over the past few years the government created transmission divisions in five places, including Pasighat, Bomdila and Itanagar.
‘However, not a single post has been created; rather, the newly-created divisions are being manned by assistant engineers and executive engineers,’ it said.
Claiming that many electrical engineers from the power and the hydropower departments have been deputed to departments like health, tourism, education and science & technology, the association demanded immediate cancellation of deputed or officiating engineers, and conducting of fresh examination, maintaining the recruitment rules of the departments concerned.
It also asked the government to increase the reservation for locals from 25 percent to 50 percent. The association further pleaded with the government to initiate steps to enable the entry of APST candidates in the NPHC and the power grid without GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) clearance.
