Sampoornata Abhiyan launched

PONGCHAU, 4 Jul: Longding DC Bekir Nyoraklaunched the NITI Aayog’s ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ in Pongchau subdivision on Thursday, in the presence of NITI Aayog official Akshat Shrivastav and other stakeholders.

The programme is designed to ensure intensive and focused attainment of six key performance indicators across health, agriculture, social development and nutrition in the aspirational block within three months.

Members of SHGs, along with students organised performances to create awareness on the programme.

The DC also visited various schools of the subdivision and took stock of their condition.

Meanwhile, as part of the launch programme, the Pongchau SDO chaired a special gram sabha to deliberate on the challenges, targets and action plans to be pursued by all concerned and monitored at all levels.

A resolution was passed by the gram sabha, with the DC and the NITI Aayog official as attendees.

The launch programme concluded with a coordination meeting of all block-level officials to chalk out the detailed action plan for effective evaluation and monitoring.

In Namsai district, the Sampoornata Abhiyan, which is being observed from 4 July to 30 September as part of the aspirational district programme (ADP) and the aspirational block programme (ABP), under the aegis of the NITI Aayog, was launched in Chongkham CD block.

Attending the inaugural event, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein urged the departments concerned, the PRI members and the public to “coordinate and cooperate for 100 per cent saturation of the six key performance indicators.”

He also welcomed Shan Muhammad from the NITI Aayog to Chowkham.

The DCM later inaugurated the KPI saturation stalls of the departments concerned.

Namsai DC CR Khampa spoke about the ADP and the ABP, and emphasised on “working on three-tier model – convergence, collaboration and competition.”

He informed that Namsai ranked 13th out of 112 aspirational districts, and Chonkham ranked 297th under the ABP out of 500 aspirational blocks across India.

He sought cooperation from the departments/agencies concerned and the public “to achieve the set target of saturation by 30 September.”

Later, soil mitras, anganwadi workers, ASHAs and SHG members were sensitised to the action plan to achieve saturation by their HoDs/HoOs concerned, under the supervision of the Namsai DC, the DPO, the Chongkham ADC, the CO and the professional from the NITI Aayog. (DIPROs)
