Lately there have been troubling reports of misconduct by the police personnel at the Likabali check gate. Allegations suggest that police officers there have been demanding bribes from truck drivers and others who are without an inner line permit. Such action not only undermines public trust but also constitutes a serious human rights violation.
It is imperative that the chief minister and the home minister take decisive action to address this issue. Upholding the integrity of our law enforcement is essential for ensuring justice and maintaining public confidence in our institutions.
The ultimate goal must be to ensure transparency and accountability in our law enforcement agencies.
