NIRJULI, 20 Aug: A weeklong student induction programme for the freshers began at the NERIST here on Monday.
Being organised by the NERIST’s universal human values cell, the programme aims to introduce the new students to a balanced blend of physical and mental activities, fostering holistic development and inculcation of universal human values, the institute informed in a release.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, NERIST director prof.Narendranath S encouraged the freshers to “embrace the values and skills that the programme aims to impart.”
Administration Dean prof. M. Chandrasekaran and Students’ Affairs Dean prof. P.R Gajurel also spoke.
The induction programme will feature a variety of activities designed to foster both physical and mental wellbeing of the freshers, the release said.
“These activities range from yoga and physical training to literary events, creative arts and skill-based workshops – all aimed at instilling human values in a universal context,” it added.
