DARKA, 23 Sep: The West Siang KVK organised a capacity building programme on round-the-year oyster mushroom cultivation for the farmers of Darka village on Monday.
The training session was initiated by KVK plant protection scientist Dr Kangabam Suraj S, who delivered a presentation covering all the technical aspects of oyster mushroom cultivation, including cropping room structure, hygienic maintenance, disease pest management, etc.
He said that “oyster mushroom cultivation is very suitable crop enterprises in West Siang district due to prevailing climatic condition and availability of resources.”
Mushroom spawn, misting sprayers, polybags, rubber bands, and chemical disinfectants were later distributed among the selected farmers.
