RONO HILLS, 7 Mar: Tokmin Panyang, Soney Megu, and Raju Bokar won the first, second, and third prize, respectively, in the men’s category, while Elushi Ngi, Ninalu Yun, and Tagru Yapi won the first, second and third prize, respectively, in a 5-km ‘Unying Aran mini-marathon’ organised by the Adi Students’ Union (AdiSU) RGU at the RGU campus on Friday.
Over 70 runners competed in the event, which was themed ‘Run for the wildlife protection: Hunting is history’. The winners were awarded cash prize, medals, and certificates.
Addressing the participants, RGU Education HoD Dr Tayum Saroh and Botany Assistant Professor Dr Oyi Dai emphasised the importance of sports and physical activity in students’ life.
The marathon was sponsored by AAPSU seminar, debate and symposium secretary Nun Pertin. AdiSU RGU games and sports secretary Jakoria Mongku was the organising chairman, while AdiSU RGU vice president Longding Moyong was the organising secretary.
