Five-day NCC festival concludes

NAHARLAGUN, 18 Aug: The 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion of the NCC here concluded its five-day NCC Festival on Monday.

Over 200 cadets of the senior division and senior wing of various institutes and districts of the state of participated in the event.

The festival, held under the leadership of 1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC Commanding Officer Col Samudra Vijay Sarma and Administrative Officer Lt Col Surjit Rai, offered a tapestry of events, ranging from cultural performances to physical training, aligning with the themes of national integration and women in defence forces.

The festival was effective in its objective of introducing the cadets to a regimented way of life while also exposing them to the kaleidoscopic mosaic of the traditional and cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

The cultural events were a major highlight, with performances demonstrating the cadets’ versatility. Apart from that, the festival aimed to create awareness on communal harmony, discipline, inclusivity and character-building through community life.

The festival provided the cadets a platform for showcasing not just their creative talents but also to incorporate physical fitness and leadership qualities. In this pursuit, games, march past, guard of honour and drill sessions were conducted alongside the cultural events.

The closing ceremony was marked by an address to the cadets by the commanding officer, who praised the cadets for their dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm, noting that the spirit they demonstrated during the camp was a reflection of the NCC’s core values of discipline and unwavering spirit of youths.

The event reaffirmed the NCC’s resolute aim to provide holistic development, impart discipline and camaraderie, and instil values of unity, empowerment, service to the nation and patriotism in the cadets.

Despite being conducted for the first time in Arunachal, it was effective in its effort to promote unity in diversity, and in representing the rich heritage of the state.
