Editor,
We are all aware that our state is facing a severe unemployment crisis, and many of our educated youths are left with an uncertain future.
One of the major reasons is the lack of tribal-centric employment policies. Unlike our neighbouring states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Assam – where schedule tribe (ST) and permanent residence certificates (PRC) are mandatory for appearing in competitive examinations – Arunachal Pradesh has not yet enforced such a system in the APPSC and the APSSB exams.
This loophole not only undermines the rights of our indigenous people but also exposes our limited opportunities to outsiders. It is high time we united and demanded that ST and PRC certificates be made compulsory eligibility criteria for all exams conducted in our state. This is not just about jobs – it is about protecting our identity, securing our future, and ensuring justice for the tribal youths of Arunachal.
I deeply appreciate Tadak Nalo for initiating this important movement. I stand in full support of his efforts and appeal to every youth of our state to rise above personal differences and join hands in solidarity for this noble cause.
Let us remember: our unity today will decide the future of our generations tomorrow.
