RAYANG, 14 Jan: A mass social service-cum-awareness campaign was conducted at Rayang village in East Siang district on Wednesday under the banner of the Nirmal Rayang Mission.
The campaign showcased community-driven work, including the installation of awareness signboards carrying inspiring proverbs and messages on education, environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and anti-drug awareness. The village also witnessed stone lining, whitewashing of trees, pedestrian beautification, and overall cleanliness, giving Rayang village a unique and attractive appearance.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Delong Padung, with active cooperation from all village members, local youth groups, community-based associations, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). School students participated enthusiastically, along with exposure tour students from Rottung Upper Primary School in Siang district, who took part in the awareness activities.
