YINGKIONG, Sep 5: The Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner- cum-District Magistrate has in an order issued on August 17 directed cattle owners at Yingkiong town to remove their cows/cattle from market area within three days.
Accordingly on August 26 last, a team comprising of magistrates and police officer seized cows found roaming in Yingkiong Bazaar and penalized cattle owners with Rs 5000 for release of their cattle.
An order was also issued stating that if the owner of the impound cows failed to turn up for release of their cattle within August 29 last, the seized cow shall be disposed of by public auction on August 30 last.
Subsequently, the district administration on Tuesday auctioned one cow for non-claimant by owner. (DIPRO)
