Editor,
I wish to draw attention to an important concern following the recently conducted AESE examination. While the non-technical answer key has been published, many aspirants are unable to properly evaluate their performance as they no longer possess their carbon copy answer sheets.
In this situation, it would be both practical and beneficial if the commission published a detailed marks statement with clear segregation of marks in technical (civil engineering) and non-technical subjects. If releasing marks for all candidates is not feasible, at least the marks of selected candidates may be disclosed, as was done in earlier AESE examinations. Inclusion of written and viva voce marks would further enhance clarity.
Such transparency would not only address the present difficulty faced by aspirants but also provide meaningful insights into evaluation trends. This will help future candidates prepare with better direction and understanding, while also strengthening confidence in the examination system.
I sincerely hope the authorities concerned will take note of this genuine concern and act in the interest of fairness and transparency.
A Taku Sonam,
Itanagar
